About us
About Tackle Index
Tackle Index is a UK fishing reference built to help anglers pick the right kit, find the right water and fish it well.
What we do
- Tackle reviews and on-paper scores built from specs, price and checked outside ratings.
- Where to Fish: fisheries, lakes, rivers, canals and clubs, with rules and access from official sources where we can find them.
- A directory of local tackle shops, so you can buy from independents.
- Practical fishing guides and tools like the Venue Rule Checker and River Ready.
Who writes it
Content is produced by the Tackle Index Editorial Team. AI tools help us draft and organise, but facts are checked against named sources before anything goes live, and we say plainly when we haven't tested something ourselves.
How we're funded
Through memberships and, separately, Amazon affiliate links. Paying never buys a better score or a verified badge. Read how we pay the bills.
