Little Luddington Farm
Little Luddington Farm is a peaceful Warwickshire Avon meadow stretch with roughly 17 platform swims. It’s a deeper, slower bit of river, with big bream shoals upstream and through the middle, plus roach, silver fish and predator possibilities.

Little Luddington Farm
The lowdown
- It’s a single meadow stretch at Luddington, well away from the bustle of Stratford town centre. Nice and quiet, and the association says swimmers and paddle-boarders aren’t a major headache here.
- The association describes about 17 swims, all from installed platforms. That makes access comfy enough, and each peg should give you a proper look at the water without clambering about.
- Compared with some nearby Avon stretches, this one is deeper and slower. The inside line is almost stationary in places, so it’s a good one for picking apart with a pole or easing a feeder through the swim.
- The downstream end is shallower, while the upstream and middle sections are the bream ground. Large shoals are a feature, and reported bags have topped 100 lb, with individual bream around 6–7 lb.
- Reed beds offer cracking stick-float water. Roach and other silver fish are present, so a light float approach can be bob on when the fish are in the mood.
- Casters and maggots are recommended, with groundbait feeder tactics also suited to the slower water. Pole, feeder and waggler methods are all on the menu.
- For bream, build a sensible bed of feed and give the swim time to settle. Once they move in, it can get properly busy. Keep the gear balanced for decent-sized fish.
- Predator opportunities are mentioned by the association too, although no particular predator species are named for this stretch. Don’t assume a specific target without checking the current rules.
- There are overhead power lines roughly halfway along the section. Take care with poles and rods beneath them — no faffing about with long tackle in the wrong spot.
- Parking is beside Luddington Road by the entrance gate, then it’s a walk down to the river. Carry your booking confirmation or proof of purchase for bailiff checks, and check match or visiting-club closures before setting off.
- We're not sure on ticket prices for this one — check with the club or local regulations before you leave.
Methods: A pole or waggler is a tidy starting point for the inside line, reed beds and silver fish. For the bream, try casters, maggots or a groundbait feeder, especially through the deeper upstream and middle sections.
