River Trent – Laughterton

Laughterton is an LDAA members-only stretch on the eastern bank of the tidal River Trent in Lincolnshire. It’s broad, lowland and navigable, with floodplain surroundings and boat traffic — proper big-river country.

Run by Lincoln & District Angling Association · checked 6 Oct 2026 · boundaries only partly described by the club

The lowdown

  • This is a tidal Trent stretch, so it has that broad, moving-water feel rather than a neat little club river. Expect a big river setting with marsh and flood-bank surroundings.
  • It’s on the eastern bank near Laughterton. The river is navigable, so boat traffic is part of the picture and anglers need to keep an eye on what’s happening on the water.
  • LDAA doesn’t publish an official measured length for the stretch, and there’s no published peg count. So there’s no faffy peg-by-peg breakdown here.
  • The water is members-only. It isn’t available as a standard day-ticket venue on LDAA’s current day-ticket page, so don’t turn up expecting to grab a casual ticket on the bank.
  • Night fishing is allowed for members only. Match pegs have to be vacated by 08:30 on match day, so keep an eye on club arrangements before settling in.
  • All fish must be returned alive unless the committee has given written permission otherwise. A suitable landing net and disgorger, or similar unhooking tool, are compulsory. A mat is strongly recommended.
  • Parking on the banks is prohibited. Use a suitable, valid parking space, close every gate behind you and take all litter away from the peg when you leave.
  • Avoid fishing beside summer and permanent boat moorings. Fishing from unmoored boats, kayaks or other unmoored craft is not allowed.
  • No open fires. Barbecues must be raised off the ground and mustn’t scorch the vegetation. Camping is prohibited, with bivvy equipment only allowed at designated night-fishing venues.
  • Live bait, bloodworm, joker and whole tiger nuts are banned on LDAA waters. Under-16s must be supervised by a responsible adult.
  • We're not sure on ticket prices for this one — check with the club or local regulations before you leave.

Methods: The checked details don’t specify particular methods, depths or features for individual swims. Treat it as a tidal, navigable river and follow the club’s access and tackle rules to the letter.
