The lowdown

  • This is the old Brayford Pool inland-port area — a widened natural pool with plenty of urban character. Proper central Lincoln fishing, with the waterfront all around you.
  • The pegs are on Brayford Wharf South. They begin just after the Upper Witham bridge on Brayford Wharf East and finish where the wooden wall starts.
  • Access is from the bridge on Brayford Wharf East, so it’s a straightforward walk onto the stretch. Have a quick look around before settling on a swim.
  • It’s a broad pool rather than a narrow river run. That means space to fish a swim comfortably, but you’ll need to stay switched on around the busy waterfront.
  • The exact peg area sits close to the University of Lincoln side of the pool and the Upper Witham bridge. A handy landmark when finding the right bit.
  • There’s no parking immediately beside the pegs at present. NCP Car Park is the nearest suggested option, with Lucy Tower Car Park another shout.
  • LDAA lists bream, carp, eel, perch, roach, rudd and pike among the fish in its waters. Plenty of options, from a proper feeder session to watching a float for silverfish.
  • With a broad urban pool and a mixed species list, feeder and float approaches are the obvious starting points. Keep things tidy and adapt to what’s showing in the swim.
  • Take extra care around wildlife and members of the public. It’s a central waterfront venue, so being considerate is all part of fishing here.
  • No night fishing is allowed. It’s a dawn-to-dusk sort of place, with the key thing being that Brayford Pool itself is members-only.

Methods: A float or feeder approach makes sense on this broad urban pool, with bream, carp, perch, roach and rudd among the fish LDAA lists. Keep an eye out for pike too, and fish considerately around the waterfront.
