We don't publish an "ideal level" — nobody can promise one. Flood water is dangerous: if it's up and coloured, stay well back from the edge. Open River Ready
The lowdown
- This is proper club water on the Severn, run by St Johns Angling Society. Membership also gives access to four society pools, subject to the relevant restrictions.
- The official pages don’t give a stretch length or peg count, so there’s no point guessing. Check the society maps for the approved access paths, walkways and parking spots.
- Parking needs a bit of planning. The temporary car park has gone, and members are told to park beneath the bridges on hardstanding only.
- No parking on the slip roads from Temeside Way. Vehicles need a current society Parking Pass, and driving on the natural bank is a definite no-no.
- You can’t drop all your gear at the peg and nip back with the motor, either. Take kit down, return the vehicle to hardstanding, and keep it there.
- The Powick Weir area has a marked restriction: fishing is banned 15 metres above and 25 metres below the weir. Worth checking the map before settling in.
- Keep it tidy and low-impact. Fires, camping and enclosed bivvies are forbidden, while litter and discarded line must be taken away.
- Dogs aren’t allowed on society waters. Gates must be shut and locked where applicable, and members must remain on their rods while fishing.
- The official pages don’t publish a Carrington Waters species list, separate night-fishing policy or specific tactics. Stick to the applicable coarse and game-fish close seasons and local byelaws.
Methods: No specific method is published for this stretch. The club rules cover access, parking, close seasons and conduct rather than recommending a particular approach.

The club doesn't list species for this stretch, so we haven't guessed.

Coarse fishing on English rivers is closed from 15 March to 15 June inclusive. That's the law for coarse fish on rivers — it's not a club rule, and game-fishing seasons work differently.
