Eastham Bridge

Eastham Bridge gives you roughly three-quarters of a mile of double-bank fishing on the River Teme, with a short extra bit above the bridge on the left bank. It’s mixed game and coarse water, and the BAA calls it excellent for both.

We don't publish an "ideal level" — nobody can promise one. Flood water is dangerous: if it's up and coloured, stay well back from the edge. Open River Ready

The lowdown

  • The stretch starts right at Eastham Bridge, near the village of Eastham in the Teme valley. Proper handy landmark, and hard to miss.
  • You get approximately three-quarters of a mile of double-bank fishing. There’s also a short additional section above the bridge on the left bank.
  • This is a mixed fishery, with both game and coarse fishing available. The association specifically describes the water as excellent for both sides of the game.
  • For coarse anglers, the headline fish are barbel over 10 lb, reported by the rights holder. That’s a cracking bit of river sport.
  • Pike over 25 lb are also reported by the rights holder, so there’s some serious predator potential in the stretch too.
  • The facts don’t give individual swim or peg details, so expect to explore the available bank rather than turning up with a numbered-peg plan.
  • Access is from the BAA car park beside Eastham Bridge. The main postcode is WR15 8NU, with the car park opposite the turning to Woodstone Manor.
  • There’s also a second field car park opposite the same turning, around 52.317897, -2.483232. The official Eastham Bridge car-park coordinates are 52.318762, -2.500327.
  • Approach via the A443 from Worcester. Worth getting the sat-nav sorted before setting off, as there are two parking details in the club information.
  • Night fishing isn’t permitted. Check the BAA maps, access information and fishing regulations before heading out, then crack on with the river in daylight.
  • We're not sure on ticket prices for this one — check with the club or local regulations before you leave.

Methods: It’s mixed game and coarse water, so the stretch suits anglers coming for either side of the fishing. The checked details don’t specify particular rigs, baits or tactics.

Key rules

  • Fishing is not permitted at night.
  • Anglers must have Birmingham Anglers Association membership to access the water.
  • Check the BAA maps, access information and fishing regulations before fishing.

Coarse fishing on English rivers is closed from 15 March to 15 June inclusive. That's the law for coarse fish on rivers — it's not a club rule, and game-fishing seasons work differently.
