Evesham and Swifts Water
The lowdown
- This is a combined listing, so Evesham and Swifts Water sit under the same BAA stretch details. Proper useful if you fancy trying both bits.
- Evesham is the bream water of the pair. BAA describes it as having good bream fishing, so it’s the obvious starting point if that’s your target.
- Swifts Water is noted for chub and roach. A nice contrast to Evesham, with the water carrying more of a rural-edge feel.
- BAA also names pike and zander as present across its waters, with occasional tench and barbel reported too.
- The setting is managed coarse fishing, with BAA looking after access points, pegs and car-parking facilities on its fisheries.
- For Evesham, head in from Common Road after crossing the river at the second bridge. The BAA car park is under the railway bridge and past the scrap yard.
- Swifts Water is approached from School Road, off the B4084 from Pershore. Follow the track and railway bridge to the signposted car park.
- Important faff-saving bit: don’t drive to the river at Swifts Water. Leave the motor at the signposted car park.
- This is club water, not a day-ticket stretch. You need current BAA membership, your membership card and a valid Environment Agency rod licence.
- Night fishing is prohibited at both sections. Keep a suitable landing net ready, follow the close season and don’t remove fish from BAA waters, except invasive non-native species under the rules.
Methods: The facts point to a proper coarse-fishing approach, with bream at Evesham and chub and roach at Swifts Water. Pike, zander, tench and barbel are also named, so choose your approach around the species you’re targeting.
