The full rundown on Court Farm Fishing Lakes

Court Farm Fishing Lakes sits at Court Farm, Rag Hill, Aldermaston, between Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke. It’s a rural Berkshire venue with three established coarse-fishing lakes, so there’s a fair bit to get your head around before choosing a swim.

Lake One is the friendly all-rounder. It’s roughly 50 metres from the car park and is suitable for anglers of all abilities. There’s a decent spread of species too, including carp over 20lb, roach over 2.5lb, rudd to about 2lb, perch to about 5lb, bream to about 2lb and tench to about 4lb.

Lake Two is even handier for access, sitting approximately 15 metres from the car park with easy level access. It has the biggest stated carp in the first two lakes, at over 30lb, plus roach to about 3.5lb, perch to about 5.6lb and tench to about 8lb. A proper mixed bag water, then, with a few cheeky lumps in the mix.

Lake Three is the specimen lake and the headline act for carp anglers. The fishery says it holds more than 200 double-figure carp, with a current carp record of 36lb. It also has specimen roach to about 4lb, perch to about 5lb, tench to about 10lb and bream to about 4lb.

Barbel and additional double-figure carp have also been added across the lakes. That gives the complex a nice bit of variety, whether you fancy building a mixed species hit, chasing a bigger tench or getting clipped up for a carp campaign.

This is not a turn-up-and-fish day-ticket venue. Annual tickets are the only option, and the price is not published on the official website, so prospective anglers need to contact the fishery. Matches can also be booked, with weeknight evening matches potentially accommodated during the summer months.

Opening is every day apart from Christmas Day. Monday to Saturday runs from 7am until dusk or 9pm, while Sundays and bank holidays run from 7am until dusk or 8pm. Night fishing is not allowed, and the rules are fairly tight, so have your rod licence, unhooking mat and landing net sorted before you head over.

We're not sure on ticket prices here — we couldn't find reliable, up-to-date prices online, so give the fishery a ring or check their own site before you go.
