The full rundown on Bank End Fisheries

Bank End Fisheries sits at Bank End Farm, Finningley, Doncaster, DN9 3NT. With six lakes listed and fishing available throughout the year, there’s a proper choice here rather than one water trying to do everything. Mixed coarse fishing, carp-focused sessions and match waters all have a place. The useful bit is choosing your lake before loading the car, because the species, depths and pleasure-fishing access aren’t the same across the site.

East End is the biggest of the three lakes with published acreages: approximately five acres, with 58 pegs and depths of 8–14 feet. Its mix of carp, tench, roach, rudd, bream and perch makes it the obvious starting point if you fancy variety rather than an all-carp day. The fishery also lists a 30lb 8oz common carp for this lake. That’s a cracking headline fish, not a promise that a lump will turn up in your swim.

West End keeps things more compact at two acres and 22 pegs, with depths of 6–10 feet. Carp, mirror carp and F1s are listed here. Match Lake gives you three acres, 34 pegs and a much broader depth range of 3–14 feet, with F1 carp listed to 15lb. Those depth differences are worth bearing in mind when setting up: don’t assume every peg gives you the same water in front of you.

Horseshoe opened in summer 2026 and adds another F1 option, with fish averaging 2–3lb and depths averaging 6–8 feet. Both Horseshoe and Match Lake allow pleasure fishing only when there isn’t a club or open match taking place. If either is your first choice, a quick call is sensible. Specimen Lake 1 and Specimen Lake 2 round out the line-up for carp anglers, although sizes, depths and stock weights aren’t published in the details supplied.

Getting a pleasure day session sorted is refreshingly straightforward. There’s no advance booking needed; pay on the bank or in McCallum’s Farm Shop. Night fishing is different and needs booking ahead with David McCallum. A farm shop and café are on site, while East End and West End advertise parking behind your peg. That’s a handy combination when you’ve got rods, bait and the usual mountain of kit to shift.

Before setting off, give the gate times a check: the prices page and other official pages don’t agree on closing time. Pack a padded unhooking mat or cradle, use barbless hooks and dip every net on arrival. Inline Method feeders are required, and bait boats, braided mainline and fixed lead rigs are out. Get those basics bob on and you can concentrate on choosing the right water for your day.
