The River Teme Powick, or Lower Teme, is Worcester Angling Society water running for approximately 1.5 miles from around Old Powick Bridge. It’s members only, with proper barbel, chub and roach appeal.

Newnham Farm, River Teme

River Teme · Day ticket

Newnham Farm is a cracking, roughly two-mile stretch of the middle/lower River Teme near Newnham Bridge. It’s a proper rural, tree-lined beat, but the steep banks and limited access make it a challenging one.

North Bank

River Nene · Day ticket

The North Bank is a proper iconic River Nene coarse-fishing stretch, with around 120 pegs running from the Millennium Bridge down to Dog in a Doublet Sluice. Big bream shoals, plenty of roach and perch, and regular pike make it a cracking all-rounder.

Eastham Bridge

River Teme · Members only

Eastham Bridge gives you roughly three-quarters of a mile of double-bank fishing on the River Teme, with a short extra bit above the bridge on the left bank. It’s mixed game and coarse water, and the BAA calls it excellent for both.

Milton Ferry

River Nene · Day ticket

Milton Ferry is a mixed River Nene fishery on the left bank, running from The North West Bridge down to Milton Ferry Bridge. Expect overhanging trees, varying depth and a proper sweeping bend where the deeper water tends to sit on the angler’s bank.

River Great Ouse – Hambarn, Blunham

River Great Ouse · Club members, reciprocal members or guest ticket

Hambarn at Blunham is the larger of Barnet and District Angling Club’s two middle Great Ouse stretches. It runs for part of the combined one-mile Blunham water and has around 70 permanent pegs, with big bream shoals the main draw.

Blunham — Hambarn

River Great Ouse · Club members; guest tickets subject to restrictions

Hambarn is the bigger of BADAC’s two Blunham stretches on the middle River Great Ouse, with around 70 permanent pegs. It’s a proper bream venue, with big shoals that can get on the munch and produce bags of 100lb.

Black Barn is a quiet, lightly fished stretch of the River Great Ouse near Weston Underwood, run by Olney & Clifton Fishing Association. It’s about 500 yards of slow water, with a long open section and a more tucked-away wooded bit.

Finding somewhere to fish near you

Type a town, county or fish into the box up top — something like “Nottingham”, “carp Nottinghamshire” or “day ticket River Trent” — and we'll pull up the waters we've checked nearest that spot. Around Nottingham, for example, you'll find canal stretches, the tidal-free middle Trent and plenty of commercial lakes within a short drive.

Every listing tells you the stuff you actually need before you load the car: what's in each lake or stretch, whether it's a day ticket, club or syndicate water, the house rules and what a ticket costs when we last checked. Rules and prices change, so always give the fishery or club a quick shout before you go.

Rivers, canals and stillwaters fish completely differently. Lakes reward a bit of watercraft and steady feeding; rivers are all about flow, depth and level, so we show live river levels where we can. Use the water-type and fish filters to narrow it down, then open a venue for the lake-by-lake or stretch-by-stretch lowdown.
