Weston Mill to Billing Bridge

A proper River Nene club stretch running from Weston Mill through the Billing area to Billing Bridge. It’s members only, with access through Billing Aquadrome and both banks included around the lower end.

Run by Northampton Nene Angling Club · checked 6 Oct 2026 · boundaries only partly described by the club

The lowdown

  • This is a genuine River Nene fishery, not a stillwater, with the stretch passing Billing Aquadrome and the Billing Mill area.
  • On the left bank, fishing runs from Weston Mill downstream to the lock at Clifford Hill.
  • The right bank is included from Clifford Hill lock down to Billing Bridge.
  • There’s also both-bank fishing for one field downstream of Billing Bridge. Handy little extra bit of bank.
  • Access is through Billing Aquadrome, so have your valid club card ready for the security staff. No card, no faffing about on the bank.
  • Parking is available close to the riverbank, which makes getting the gear in and out a bit easier.
  • The named fish list is a decent Nene mix: bream, carp, chub, perch, pike and roach. Dace are also named for the water.
  • No day tickets are available here. This one is for Northampton Nene Angling Club members rather than visiting day-ticket anglers.
  • The closed season runs from 15 March to 15 June inclusive. Outside that period, stick to the club’s normal rules.
  • Night fishing is a definite no-go, specifically within Billing Aquadrome. Boat and kayak fishing, crayfish trapping and magnet fishing are also prohibited. Fish must stay in the club water.
  • We're not sure on ticket prices for this one — check with the club or local regulations before you leave.

Methods: A versatile river venue on paper, with the named species suiting approaches such as trotting, feeder work and sensible predator fishing where permitted by the club rules. Keep it straightforward and fish within the marked club stretch.
