The full rundown on Trinity Waters

Trinity Waters sits at Straight Drove, Chilton Trinity, near Bridgwater in Somerset. It’s a family-run fishery split across two sites: Woodland Site and Wildmarsh Site. Altogether, there are five individual lakes, so there’s a fair bit to get your head around before picking a peg.

The fishing is nicely varied. Woodland Lake and Ash Lake allow matches, while Middlemarsh is the main pleasure-fishing water. Wildmarsh is the runs water for day and night fishing, and Chandos is the main carp lake, mainly used for nights. Handy setup if you fancy changing things up rather than fishing the same style every visit.

The lakes generally have silt bottoms with occasional hard-clay spots. That means it pays to spend a minute finding the firmer areas, especially if you’re fishing a feeder or presenting a bait on the deck. Islands, spits and margins feature across several waters, giving you plenty to investigate from the swim.

Woodland Lake covers about 2 acres and has 34 swims, including some doubles. It holds carp to 20lb, plus bream, tench and roach. Ash Lake is a roughly 1-acre canal-style water with 19 swims and three main islands. It has a broad mixed bag, including carp, crucians, tench, bream, perch, roach and rudd.

Middlemarsh is around 1.5 acres with 16 swims and is aimed squarely at pleasure anglers. Carp go to 12lb, with crucians, tench, bream and F1s also present. There’s no match fishing or night fishing here, so it’s the quieter option for a straightforward daytime session.

For bigger carp, Wildmarsh and Chandos are the headline waters. Wildmarsh is about 6 acres, with a main island and a spit, and holds carp to 38lb 12oz alongside grass carp to 25lb and silver fish. Chandos is roughly 3 acres, has nine swims and a main island, with carp to 29.8lb and grass carp to 21lb.

Day fishing is advertised from dawn until dusk, with summer gates opening at 6:15am and closing no later than 9pm; closing varies seasonally. Night fishing is booking-only on Wildmarsh and Chandos. With toilets, parking, a bait shop, accessible facilities and an on-site lodge with private swims, the setup looks pretty bob on for both short sessions and longer stays.
