Turvey Weir Pool is part of Northampton Nene Angling Club’s Great Ouse water, acquired in 2023. It’s a proper members-only river fishery, with the Turvey section linking into the club water at Newton Blossomville upstream and further Turvey water downstream.

Turvey Upstream is a members-only River Great Ouse stretch from Turvey road bridge up to the weir pool, then over the footbridge to the stile. It’s a proper bank fishery, joining Northampton Nene Angling Club’s Newton Blossomville water upstream.

Calder Foot to Jumbles is a cracking three-quarter-mile River Ribble beat on the Stonyhurst Estate water, run by Mid Ribble Angling Society. Right-bank fishing runs from the Calder junction pool down to Cross Gills, with plenty of open water, named pools and a cheeky set of falls.

Finding somewhere to fish near you

Every listing tells you the stuff you actually need before you load the car: what's in each lake or stretch, whether it's a day ticket, club or syndicate water, the house rules and what a ticket costs when we last checked. Rules and prices change, so always give the fishery or club a quick shout before you go.

Rivers, canals and stillwaters fish completely differently. Lakes reward a bit of watercraft and steady feeding; rivers are all about flow, depth and level, so we show live river levels where we can. Use the water-type and fish filters to narrow it down, then open a venue for the lake-by-lake or stretch-by-stretch lowdown.
