Biddenham is a peaceful, secluded bit of the Great Ouse, owned by Luton Angling Club, with roughly 45 pegs and a proper change of pace from top to bottom. Think narrower, quicker water upstream and deep, slow water downstream — members only, though.

Verulam Angling Club’s Radwell stretch gives you approximately a mile of Great Ouse, with a railway bridge splitting two quite different bits of river. Deeper, slower water above; shallower, weedier fishing below — a proper choice of character.
