The full rundown on Manor Farm Lakes

Manor Farm Lakes is at Lower Caldecote, near Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, SG18 9BB. It’s a proper spread: a 100-acre complex with seven fishing lakes and one mile of River Ivel fishing. The big draw is choice, whether you fancy concentrating on carp or fishing a water with a broader mix of species. Pick your lake carefully, though. This isn’t somewhere you can book one water, have a wander and switch lakes if another swim takes your fancy.

The waters vary quite a bit on paper. Anne’s is the smallest at one acre, with 13 swims, while Booneys stretches to 16 acres with 34 swims. Between those sit Becks, Blunham, Carp, Damsel and Winters. Winters has just 12 swims across five acres; Damsel has 35 across the same acreage. That’s a useful distinction when choosing your session, without pretending swim numbers alone tell you how comfortable every peg will be.

For mixed fishing, Blunham lists carp, bream, roach, rudd and tench, while Damsel has carp, bream, perch, roach and tench. Carp Lake holds common, mirror and koi carp alongside perch and tench. Booneys adds pike and eel to its mix, and Becks has published depths of 4–10 feet. Those are handy starting points for choosing a water, but they aren’t a promise of fish on the munch or a ready-made recipe for getting bagged up.

A day ticket is £17 per angler on any of the seven lakes. If you fancy staying over, a 24-hour ticket is £34 on every lake except Blunham. Anne’s has five designated 24-hour swims and Damsel has 16, so an overnight session doesn’t mean every swim is available for it. Junior, disabled and senior anglers get £4 off fishing tickets with code JSD. Under-nines fish or visit free with a paying adult, but overnight fishing is off the cards for them.

There’s a little arrival admin, so get it sorted before loading the car. Book online, make an individual booking for each angler, then use your booking ID at the arrival kiosk for the vehicle entry/exit ticket. The pricing page gives day sessions as 07:00–21:00, with departure before 21:00. The Terms page says 06:00 instead, so check rather than banking on an early start. Overnight timings also change seasonally. And the postcode-centre coordinates aren’t a verified entrance pin.

Tackle-wise, bring a minimum 42-inch landing net and an unhooking mat. It’s barbless hooks only, size 6 at the largest, and no braided mainline. Nets, mats, slings and bait boats need dipping on arrival; changing lakes is prohibited for biosecurity. Pike fishing is limited to Becks and Booneys from October through March, without livebaiting. There’s also a 17-van touring caravan site with electric hookups, fresh water and an operating toilet/shower block — handy if you’re planning a longer stay.
