The full rundown on Partridge Lakes Fishery

Partridge Lakes Fishery sits on Glaziers Lane, Culcheth, Warrington, Cheshire. The complex covers approximately 70 acres, with 394 pegs spread across 15 waters. That’s a proper spread of fishing, so there’s plenty of choice whether you fancy a match-style session, a mixed coarse bag or a day after carp. It’s the sort of place where checking the lake options before setting off will save a fair bit of faff.

The Coveys are the match-and-pleasure centrepiece. Six snake lakes share 173 pegs, with widths generally around 11–14 metres and depths from roughly 10 inches to 7 feet. They contain F1s, mirror carp, commons, ide, barbel and chub. That range of depths should give you plenty to think about, from shallow lines and margins to deeper water. Take a tidy selection of floats, a couple of feeder options and enough bait to change things around if the swim goes quiet.

Pine Lake offers a more canal-style setup, running approximately 20–28 metres wide with a far shelf of about 1 metre and a maximum depth near 5 feet. Marsh Canal is around 11–14 metres wide and reaches about 6 feet. Both look suited to anglers who enjoy working shelves, far-bank lines and margins rather than simply chucking into the middle. On a new venue, it’s worth having a proper look at the peg first and asking the fishery team which lines and baits have been getting attention.

There are some useful layouts across the rest of the complex too. Tweed has a doughnut-shaped layout around an approximately 11-metre central island, while Piper is sheltered by trees. Willow is near the café, tackle shop, toilets and main car park. Ribbon has 20 wheelchair-friendly pegs, Blue Badge parking next to the lake and accessible facilities nearby. Spey Canal holds F1s to about 15 lb, mirror and common carp, barbel, bream, golden tench, perch, roach, skimmers and ide, so it offers plenty of mixed-fishing possibilities.

Holbar Lake is the dedicated 4-acre day-ticket carp water, with 47 easily accessible pegs. It costs £14 for one rod or £17 for two rods in 2026. Gold Lake is members-only, with carp to about 22 lb, plus perch to about 5 lb, tench, crucian carp and silverfish. Standard day tickets exclude Holbar, Gold Lake and lakes reserved for matches, so check the booking details carefully before packing the kit. The standard 2026 adult day ticket is £13 before 4pm, the OAP and disabled concession is £12, and the junior ticket is £8 for under-16s. An additional rod costs £2.

The after-4pm ticket is £7, with an 8pm close, while Holbar after-4pm fishing is also £7 with an 8pm close. Fishery gates currently open from 7:30am; seasonal closing times vary with daylight, and the official pricing page lists current gates as 7:30am–6:00pm, with anglers asked to start packing up at least 30 minutes before closing. The café is open daily from 7:30am to 4:30pm, with hot food until 3pm, and the tackle and bait shop runs from 7:30am to 4:30pm. Online booking is recommended, especially at weekends and in peak season. Before travelling, check availability, prices and opening times, then pack barbless hooks, an Environment Agency rod licence and only the permitted rigs and baits.
